Meet Kaylene Wakeman

Kaylene Wakeman is the STAR Program Coordinator. She is a graduate of Cal Poly with a degree in Biological Sciences, and a minor in Psychology. She has been a staff member with the Center for Engineering, Science and Mathematics Education (CESAME) at Cal Poly since 2005. She has had the privilege of working with a multitude of teacher preparation projects and programs while at Cal Poly including the Learn By Doing Lab, STEMLITES, Learn By Doing Lab, RECON, AIBL, Noyce Phase 1 and 2 and STAR. Since 2018, Kaylene has worked full-time on the STAR Program. Her role focuses on the recruitment and placement of fellows, and the management of the program behind the scenes.
