Margarita Magaña is a STEM Education Consultant at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, WA. Margarita also teaches STEM, Science, and Math methods courses at Heritage University and Washington State University. She earned a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics with an Emphasis in Secondary Education and minor in Engineering in 2011, Masters in Educational Psychology in 2013, and Doctorate of Philosophy in Math and Science Education with a concentration in English Language Learners in 2020.
Prior to coming to working with STAR, Margarita participated as a STAR fellow twice: Once at the Laser Interferometer Wave Observatory (LIGO) and once at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). She then was a high school math teacher for 5 years. Margarita has been a STAR workshop leader for 4 years and is excited to continue her work with STAR educators.
